The first picture is my tiny balcony that looks into the street and parking between four apartment units. Our balconies face each other and during the evenings we can share each others conversations if you're not careful with the volume. This place is also where everyone that smokes, smokes! Because Duncan smoked and almost all my children but I, long periods were spent out here. Nightfall was a special time for Duncan and I, as the sky is visible from here. It made a nice backdrop for the long stories or just cuddling up next to each other in quiet thoughts.
The second picture shows a lamp shade Duncan and I covered together with rice paper that had herbs infused in it. It turned out nicely, I thought!
The third picture is a side view from the balcony that clearly shows the Trinity river. I know it looks like a canal but the city has a bike/walking trail along side of it and always keep the grass manicured short. I would prefer something more natural but no one asked me for my opinion!
The last picture is a piece of funky fifties wall art that adorned some one's walls and now my porch. It reminded me of the romantic courtship between a man and a woman. It belonged on the balcony.

Hello again! Wow, does your blog pack a punch. Your writing is lovely and brave. It's also so private and revealing that I feel a little funny lurking without saying hi.
I also felt my eyes welling up when I read of your love affair, and now of your packing up and moving. We moved two years ago and I found it wrenching but enlivening. It doesn't matter if you're moving across an ocean or to a neighboring apartment--each home holds such intense feelings and experiences, good and bad.
If you like, "drop by" my blog sometime. I think that the link isn't showing up, although I haven't made it private. Anyway, I'm at http://theweatherinthestreets.blogspot.com
All the best, once again,
Leah

Leah,I really appreciate you visiting. This blog is personal and intimate but I hope in some way others can identify or just realize that they're more together than they thought. Anyway...it's all to the good for change and growth!
Love to you,
Shara
Hey little bindi,
