My profession: elementary school teacher, to be exact an art teacher. I have the back to school, wish I could runaway to a beautiful deserted island, eat a box of chocolates while watch cheesy romantic movies, go on a shopping spree in Walmarts at midnight with all the other crazed teachers, blues!
Whew! Got that out of my system and now to the fear aspect. Every year at this time, a week or two before the little darlings come through my door, I have night terrors of pending doom. Of what will befall me I don't know, it's all about being unprepared and left defenseless to the cruel creative mind of a six year old.
She's over dramatizing you might say, it can't be that bad? Fear is having forty three kindergarten children walk into your classroom and the door shuts behind them! AHHHHHHHHHHH!
But then it just takes one to smile and say, "Art teacher, I love art, this is my favorite class." I melt. I remember my own days of discovery at the hands of a loving and passionate teacher then say, "I'm so glad you're here, we're going to have great fun together this year, little artists."
