Trying to get my groove back!

A trip half way around the world and I'm still not enlightened!
I'm still grappling with what to do with a rebellious teenager and what direction should I go in next? As soon as the plane touched down in Texas, I remembered...I'm really in Kansas! Spending a month in another country only postponed thinking about the future. No matter how exciting and beautiful everything was, I still have some serious decisions to make about moving forward.
It's hard to decipher just what or how the trip or summer impacted on my life...but something has happened. Tomorrow I plan to attend a paint the fence graffiti event at my hippie buddy Mary's house. This is one of the good things that has occurred...."I've found the value of having female friends in my life." Marie (my hostess in Singapore) taught me the importance of having same gender friends along with the men in your life. All through the conversations with women of Malay, Chinese, Indonesian, Indian and Black cultures, friendship with another female during the tough times was their saving grace. I promised Maria that I would be more considerate of my fellow girlfriends and spend more time with them. So Friday is Mary's house and Saturday I drive to Texarkana, Texas to see family. I need to see my Mom, brother, sister, daughter and sons....I need to reconnect. After visiting family, I will go to Arkansas to visit a sweet friend who needs some cheering up. I sure hope I can do that. I have something from Singapore I bought especially for her in Little India.
It's late...I'm out of practice writing so I'll put the spellchecker on and close til later.
Queenie is going home!
