A Walk About in Reggio Emilia, Italy

ancient buildings cuddled together creating intimate paths

patina of faded and peeling pastel colors paints their walls

arches over windows, over walkways, over doorways leads your eyes astray

arrangements of fruit and vegetables like a painter's still life in every shop

gelato stands beckoning you to ponder, choose then sample as you explore another street

fashionable people stroll by, scooter along or peddle their decorated bikes pass

even the street has it's flair with a pattern of bricks and cobblestone to urge you on

it's a feast for your eyes, ears and nose as your body floats through the beauty that is Italy

wow, thats it exactly! You captured it beautifully in photos and words.
As soon as we landed back in Bologna I saw so many stylish men walk by and I said to my husband, "no mistaking we are back in Italy" Oh yummy how I love all the style here, especially on the men! haha
I also love gelato. but that goes without saying.

That is lovely...you're giving me the wanderlust! I haven't been abroad since Paris, and that was ten years ago...

I am happy now. I love the poem too. So beautiful, as I new it would be. Thanks, and like Binid, I am anxiously awaiting your visit to Arkansas.

Hey Bindi and Cecile,
It was unreal for me. I was in art overload and felt like a child in ToyRus for the first time. I love forward to visiting you guys in Arkansas the natural state. My daughter has two visitors from Singapore til Friday morning. I do hope to live through it all. Then I can plan a trip home to Texarkana, Texas to visit my Mom and drive on the see you ladies. Let you know as soon as I have my sad little jeep serviced.

Did you say Paris? Wow, Leah, I would love to go there next, and Rome, and Milan, and London...and...well you know...the world is beautiful and interesting but most of all the people are amazing. Best part of the trip was talking to the italian people. We are a small world when it comes to the basic needs.
