Tagged...So I tag back!

Dear Sweet Bindi has tagged me on the book thing and yes I'm reading! Well, I'm always reading several books simulataneously which can be confusing but with my attention span- it's my mantra and curse whichever way you look at it. You know your weaknesses, you know your strengths! Soooo, I go with my rhythm...which is usually flat out until I'm exhausted!
At this moment, I'm reading (Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth...Awakening to Your Life's Purpose". This isn't the easiest read for me so I write in the margins, dialogue with myself to comprehend and make sense of what I read. Being a visual learner I also underline, circle, put arrows...stars...whatever to help it sink in! Elementary teacher at the roots for sure but it works for me. My buddy, Jem asked for the book after me but I think my writings will be too distracting. I'll buy him a fresh copy. So to get to the tagging....#1 use whatever book you're reading at the moment #2 turn to page 123 (oh, your book needs to have at least 123 pages in it) I guess that leaves out some comic books! #3 Type the first five sentences
Here goes!
There is a "me" that feels personally offended or resentful, and a huge amount of energy is burned up on useless protest or anger, energy that could be used for solving the situation if it were not being misused by the ego. What is more, this "anti"-energy creates new obstacles, new opposition. Many people are truly their own worst enemy. People unknowingly sabotage their own work when they withhold help or information from others or try to undermine them lest they become more successful or get more credit than "me". Cooperation is alien to the ego, except when there is a secondary motive.
*Yes this is a Oprah's Book Club read but that didn't persuade me to read it! I believe I was moving in this direction since a change meeting with an old soul mate this summer. "Cookie, I think, I'm beginning to understand what you have been trying to teach me."
So, I tag.....Duncan

Hi Cecile,
The book is deep...did I say deep thinking ...so I can't read it when I'm tired or mentally distracted. I'm taking this one on like I would a study guide...slowly.

Sweet Bindi,
Yes, it's hard to read with your schedule raising a baby. I read alot of children's books then and to be honest...do now too as part of my profession! Truth is, I just adore picture books. I collect Caldecott Winner books and Newberry Winners...the best in children's literature! I haven't packed yet...will use my son's backpack he took to Sweden. I want to force myself to travel light. I'll just have to consume the vino in Italy and write down the names of the ones I like...lol
love,
Shara

Really great of you to comment back, I'm a huge fan of your poetry. I can only imagine the wonderful impact on your students. My sister-in-law is from England. I hope to visit England with Angie soon.
