Five o'clock in the morning on the flood grounds of a lake, I join my friend Jem and his four dogs for a morning run. This was a sweet adventure for me as this was the first time he took me along to exercise the dogs and share this special place and time he enjoys with his animal children. Jem is a Texas version of the dog whisperer. He is the leader of his pack of large dogs. The pack has accepted me because Jem has given them the cue to accept me because he has allowed me inside the tight knitted family.
It was magical to be there just as darkness was giving up to the morning. We sat in the tall grasses as the dogs milled about digging, sniffing and retrieving a tossed branch. For those mystical hours I was a little girl back in Louisiana, playing in the field behind my house or in the tobacco fields at the old homestead of my grandparents. It was peaceful and spirit freeing!

Dearest bindi,
The morning was magically, it so reminded me of my childhood days. I really enjoyed Jem's company and the new experience of handling large dogs. Before this I was afraid of big dogs. The morning light does wonderful things in a photograph, I think.
Love,
Shara

I love dogs. And any one else that loves dogs are keepers in my opinion.
