A Broken Window

a broken window

rust upon the exterior

shards of glass jutting out to pierce

an oblivious but foolish heart

a willing victim

who self inflicts her own wounds

lost to her own convictions

yearns for companionship, to take a lover

balks at the gate

frozen by fear of failure

always repeating the past

she trusts everyone, she trusts no one

do not trust the heart

for to muffle the pain it indulges in risky behavior

while reaching out for temporary pleasure

let her procrastinate a little longer

avoid the empty hollow left my the shattering of glass
So maybe the Queen can sleep now!

Dearest Bindi,
Isn't it amazing how one can fill a page with thoughts and emotion then find that you have freed yourself from the the unhappy ones and connected forever to the happy ones!
What an amazement the written and spoken word is?
I'm learning to love myself again,
Shara
