Living the Jolie Blonde

Recently I embarked on a road trip with my teenage daughter to improve our relationship and hopefully bond as 2 women on an adventure.
Picture this, a beat-up PINK GeoTracker, loaded to the top of it's convertible ragtop and 2 women....one slightly worn (that's me) and one very young(that's she) and both recently bleached blonde heads. It was my idea...smart or not...more of the YaYa Sisterhood oath but without cutting & ughe...blood!
It was a trip filled with the antics of a G-rated Thelma & Louise & the Abott & Costella films. We're not natural navigators so we circled alot...all the while I kept saying, "You're not scared are you?".
I learned alot about my tolerance for teenage attitude and just how much this trip changed our relationship. Something profound happens when two people have to depend on each other for companionship, safety , entertainment, and comic relief for going in the wrong direction (AGAIN!)
We drove down the Texas coast , stopping when we had an interest or energy to explore. Sometimes we camped...(another sure way to find out your ability to get along with another) and (when we reached limits from the sun & elements )we stayed at a motel. ....oh, so grateful for the credit card and air conditioning!
Home again but still learning from the trip.
